One of our backpacking trips in the Redwoods took us through some old growth areas where we got to see some HUGE redwoods.
The trail was like hiking through a tropical rainforest. There was constant moisture in the air and moss growing on everything. There was even moss growing on the moss.

Crazy slugs all over the place called banana slugs.
Unlike any other national park we've been to, Redwoods NP actually allowed mountain biking on certain trails in the park. We were able to do a 20 mile ride through the forest and then ride along the beach where we saw lots of Roosevelt Elk feeding in the marsh. Pretty spectacular scenery.

Driving the 101 up the Oregon Coast was amazing. The shorelines are incredible - rocky, haystacks, etc.
We stopped plenty for camping, hiking, canoeing, you name it.

Hiking Neahkahnie Mountain.
Oswald West State Park - absolutely beautiful. We timed out visit at low tide so we could play around in the tide pools and check out the sea life.
We went to Astoria on a typical rainy day. Still beautiful.

We have thoroughly enjoyed Oregon, are excited for Washington, but can not wait to get to Alaska. We've saving the best for last!
